Special Education at Automotive High School provides an array of services for all students, according to their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Special educators are committed to differentiated instruction and promoting positive educational outcomes for our students with disabilities. Students in self-contained (15:1 and 12:1:1) classes receive instruction in special education classrooms, often with a paraprofessional assisting. Students in Collaborative Team Teaching (CTT) classes receive instruction in the general education setting from both a special education teacher and a general education teacher. Many students receive Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS), formerly known as Resource Room, for two to five periods per week, to address learning deficits. Other support services include counseling, speech and language therapy, hearing education, and transition services. The Instructional Support Services Department has an on-site evaluation team with a school psychologist as case manager.
